NRL club interested in two Super League halfbacks

Halfbacks are the bread and butter of success and have been throughout Super League history whether it is Kevin Sinfield, Danny McGuire and Rob Burrow at Leeds Rhinos, Thomas Leuluai at Wigan Warriors or Sean Long at St Helens, these men pave the way for success.

This is why there is such focus on George Williams at Warrington Wolves, Lachlan Lam at Leigh Leopards and Jake Clifford at Hull FC as well as others across the league such as Hull KR’s trio of star halfbacks Rowan Milnes, Mikey Lewis and of course Jordan Abdull.

Last year though all of these star players were dwarfed by the excellence of one star man in the shape of Brodie Croft.

The stand-off was unplayable late into the Super League season.

He guided the Red Devils to the play-offs from an unlikely position tearing teams apart with his running game.

The stand-off won the Man of Steel as consequence and took Salford all the way to the semi-finals.

However a head injury ruled him out of the clash against St Helens and he could have been the difference in what was a disappointing day for the club.

The club were proactive about his future signing him to a huge eight year deal but that hasn’t stopped NRL club Wests Tigers from having an interest in the star stand-off with the Daily Telegraph reporting that he is now a potential target for the club.

As his Hull FC star Jake Clifford who also has interest from North Queensland Cowboys.

The Tigers have lost Luke Brooks to Manly Sea Eagles in 2024 after he was linked with a move to Leeds Rhinos.
