NRL CEO to take unpaid leave

Fans have been locked out indefinitely from Round 2 of the NRL season.

NRL CEO Todd Greenberg becomes the latest to be affected by the coronavirus pandemic after it has been announced that he will be taking unpaid leave.

Greenberg’s future in his current role is uncertain and has been under scrutiny in recent weeks and the NRL has now been shut down indefinitely as the pandemic continues to sweep the globe.

Many staff members at clubs across the league have been cut. Players are also facing huge pay-cuts, and now Greenberg has also fell victim to the financial catastrophe that has rocked the sport.

Both Greenberg and ARLC Chairman Peter V’landys are still trying to reach an agreement with the Rugby League Players Association regarding players’ wages.
