NRL boss heaps praise on ex-Hull KR star

Josh Hodgson has been one of the best nines on the planet for some time.
He made his debut with Hull FC over a decade ago but made his name with Hull KR.
After some stand out performances with the Robins, he moved to the NRL with the Canberra Raiders where he became one of the best nines on the planet.
He captained the side and even played in the 2019 NRL Grand Final against the Sydney Roosters alongside Wigan Warriors star John Bateman and England international Elliot Whitehead.
However, he came very close to retiring after an injury hit final year with the Raiders, but he has now taken up a new challenge at the Parramatta Eels as he tries to lead them to one better than their Grand Final defeat to Penrith Panthers in 2022.
He has already impressed coach Brad Arthur as well.
“In one week, I’ve seen the leadership of Josh and how he rubs off on his teammates,” Arthur said to the Daily Telegraph.
“He’s been terrific and he has a playing style that is suited to Parramatta.
“Every year we’ve had blokes leave and I’ve only ever worried about what was next, which is the next blokes who have come to work with us.”
