Newcastle Knights boss latest to confirm the capture of Wigan Warriors & Huddersfield Giants stars

There’s been plenty of speculation about Kai Pearce-Paul and Will Pryce over the last 12 months.

It has been reported again and again that the two will be joining England star Dom Young at Newcastle Knights in 2024 whilst the Knights have also strived to get them there in 2023 though it seems they have failed in that endeavour.

Recently, Ian Watson all but confirmed Will Pryce’s departure in 2024 as he explained to the Yorkshire Post that that was one of the reasons he signed Jake Connor from Hull FC.

Now, Newcastle Knights boss Adam O’Brien, speaking to the Newcastle Herald, has also confirmed that the two will be joining in 2024 believing it adds to the strong English base at the club alongside ex-Castleford Tigers Bailey Hodgson and the arrival of former Leeds Rhinos boss Brian McDermott.

This, he thinks, will help convince the aforementioned Young to stay beyond the expiry of his deal in 2023.

He said: “We’ve got a really strong English base now, if you’re talking about Bailey Hodgson and (assistant coach) Brian McDermott now with Dom.

“Obviously in 2024 you’ve got (incoming recruits) Will Pryce and Kai Pearce-Paul. There’s a fair English contingent there to make him feel nice and welcome.”
