Newcastle centre given eight-game ban for biting

Newcastle Thunder centre Misi Taulapapa (above) has been banned for eight games for biting an opponent.

The 37-year-old was put on report after being accused of the offence by Oldham forward Emmerson Whittel and accepted his charge at an RFL disciplinary hearing.

Thunder Director of Rugby Denis Betts said the player had shown “considerable remorse” for his actions and apologised to Whittel on the field.
