Newcastle Thunder have made Bradford forward Evan Hodgson their latest signing ahead of 2021.
Hodgson progressed through the Bulls’ academy system and made 13 senior appearances for the club, whilst also featuring for Doncaster on loan.
He was named Bradford’s under-19s Player of the Year in 2017 and bolsters Thunder’s options in the pack.
“I was really excited when I found out Newcastle were interested in me for next season and it’s an opportunity I’m really looking forward to,” Hodgson said. “The club has some big ambitions and it’s a good place for me to come and to be part of that. I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in.”
All good things come to an end. Been at the club since I was 14, had some unbelievable times since then with some legend players and great staff. A massive shame it’s finished the way it has not knowing I’d played my last game for the club and my best mates. 1/2 https://t.co/GGRcYY6QgE

Thunder Director of Rugby Denis Betts added: “Evan had been an outstanding player at Bradford and now has an opportunity to prove how good he is. He is a tough kid, with good footwork and a quick play-the-ball and I’m looking forward to seeing him fight for a place.”
Hodgson becomes the 14th member of Newcastle’s squad for 2021.
Newcastle Thunder 2021 squad so far: Lewis Young, Calum Turner, Jack Johnson, Alex Clegg, Matthew Wright, Alex Donaghy, Liam McAvoy, Evan Hodgson, Nathan Wilde, Kieran Hudson, Bob Beswick, Ollie Gowing, Sam Wilde, Rhyse Clarke.
