Being a Hull FC player brings with it a great deal of pressure.
The expectation from the Black and Whites supporters is huge and that expectation can lead to pressure to perform.
As Super League has seen over the years, that pressure has sometimes got to the club and they have faltered in the league whilst winning back-to-back Challenge Cups in 2016 and 2017.
For new recruit Darnell McIntosh, who signed for FC from West Yorkshire side Huddersfield Giants, he is determined to do them proud.
“They are great, a very passionate bunch but rightfully so,” McIntosh told the Super League Show.
“They turn out in big numbers and as soon as I came to the club, players who had been there a while said we’ve got a job to do to make sure we do them proud each week.
“Hopefully, I feel like each of our performances have been justified, we’ve gone out and given our all and hopefully we have done them proud.”
The Black and Whites take on Huddersfield – McIntosh’s old side – this weekend in the Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals and the winger will definitely be raring to go.
Halfback Josh Reynolds may return after missing a month of action, though whether he will displace Joe Lovodua in the halves remains to be seen.
