New leader emerges in Man of Steel rankings despite defeat

We have a new leader at the top of the Man of Steel rankings.

For the majority of this season it has been a two horse race.

Jordan Abdull of Hull KR ploughed ahead with maximum points in three appearances but even that wasn’t enough to match that from George Williams.

Williams has lead the Man of Steel rankings from almost day one.

But the England captain’s position a top the Man of Steel rankings has now been taken.

It was of course not taken by the injured Jordan Abdull whose chance of winning the award after being a nominee in 2021 has been scuppered by a six week injury.

Instead a nominee from 2020 is now leading the way.

Bevan French perhaps would have won the Man of Steel last year had he played all season but missing the start of the season underdid him but after claiming two points in the defeat to Hull FC he has leapfrogged George Williams.

Here is a break down of every game from last week.

Jake Clifford earned his second three point haul of the season against the Warriors in Round 11. Wigan’s Bevan French moved top of the Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel leaderboard after receiving two points, whilst Hull FC winger Darnell McIntosh picked up the final point.
