“Never felt pain like that” – Hull KR man describes injury to nether region

Hull KR Sauaso Sue passes the ball.

Hull KR prop Sauaso Sue has described “one of the worst pains” he’s ever had after a nasty injury that every man fears.

The Robins continued their march towards a potential League Leaders’ Shield with victory over playoff-hopefuls Salford Red Devils on Friday night, turning on the style in a 32-12 win.

Sue was, yet again, a starting prop for the game, making his 41st appearance for the club since joining from NRL side Newcastle Knights – with whom he made almost 200 NRL appearances.

The 32-year-old has been a key member of the side this year, and will be vital in the side’s bid to finish top of the table – and to potentially bring home a Grand Final victory.

However, he was forced to receive on-field treatment during the second-half of the match, holding his groin area.

Speaking since, via The Mirror, Sue has explained: “It was actually my penis!

“It is very sore. Probably one of the worst pains I’ve been through. There’s a few burst blood vessels but it should be OK.”

He managed to see the funny side of things, however, and said, on whether he would need treatment for the injury: “Only if I don’t pee properly in the next two days! But it should be alright.

“I’ve never felt pain like that on a rugby pitch. Not really. Not where it’s just constant for ages. It’s nice and bruised. Hopefully the size stays!”

He went on to say that he expected to be fine to play in their next game – which is a huge one, seeing them take on their rivals for the League Leaders’ Shield.

It remains tricky for KR even after that game, with Leigh Leopards and Leeds Rhinos their final opponents – both fighting for a playoff spots.
