When Huddersfield Giants announced that Danny Levi was leaving the club, it seemed like a major blow for the club until rumours circulated that they were going to bring back former Leigh Leopards hooker Nathan Peats to replace him.
He has returned to Huddersfield for pre-season training and has opened up on Twitter about why it has been so tough.
“It’s been alright, I stayed at Chris McQueen’s house last week just so we could settle into our new house this week,” the hooker said.
“It’s obviously tough. I left my wife and three kids at home so I’m on my own for five weeks, I’ve been away from family.”
However, he explained why these sacrifices were ones he was willing to make as he believes the Giants can win the competition.
“I’ve come here to plays finals footy and win the comp. That’s my goal and that’s our goal as a team,” he said.
“It’s early days as a team but that’s my feeling behind it all, so I’ve left my family at home so I could come over here and train hard and set the house up and rip in and get back for Christmas and pick them up.
“It’s been an enjoyable week, but the weather has perhaps been the hardest thing.”
🗣️ @nathanpeats9 has left a lot behind to be with the Giants this season but he wants to make sure it's worth it!
