My Top 5: Blake Wallace names the best 5 players he has played against

The latest ‘My Top 5’ comes from playmaker Blake Wallace, who currently plays for Leigh Centurions after plying his trade with Toronto.

Below are, in Blake’s words, the five best players he has played against in his career so far.

5. Ben Murdoch-Masila

I played against him in the Challenge Cup when he played for Salford. He’s just so strong and has good feet which makes it very hard for you when you’re matched up against him.

4. Tommy Leuluai

He’s been such a good player for such a long time. I played against him earlier this year and made the mistake of running at him. He can hit!

3. Petero Civoniceva

He played a season for the Redcliffe Dolphins at the end of his career in the Queensland Cup back in Australia. I was playing for the Central Queensland Capras and safe to say he still ran as hard as he ever did. I was surprised at how big he was.

2. Brent Sherwin

I got the opportunity to play against him when I was 18 back in Australia in a local Rugby League competition. He was my favourite player growing up so to go up against him was a dream come true. His kicking game was second to none.

1. Danny McGuire

Whenever I’d watch Super League games that came on TV as a kid in Australia, it was normally Leeds that were playing. I loved watching Danny play; he was a freak. I got to play against him in the qualifiers a few years ago in Toronto which I really enjoyed.
