Mikey Lewis’ agent reveals contract negotiations

Mikey Lewis recently signed a four-year deal at Hull KR after enjoying a tremendous breakthrough season in Super League.

The star halfback not only propelled the Robins to a semi-final play-off against Catalans Dragons, but Lewis earned himself an England Knights call-up for his performances also.

His chip-and-chase against the Warrington Wolves in the first round of the play-offs thrust Lewis into the limelight and he seems to be loving every minute.

And, his agent, Craig Harrison, revealed just how easy it was for Lewis to extend his stay at Craven Park.

“It was easy because it became apparent that he wanted to extend and the club wanted to extend – it was two minutes,” Harrison told The Full Eighty Minutes podcast.

“It was the right deal at the right time for a young player who’s got the world at his feet.”

Harrison was also extremely complimentary towards the Hull KR club too as Rovers nail down an exciting halfback trio.

“Hull KR have been great with him and they wanted him for four years to keep him for the long-term.

“There are only 12 or 13 halfbacks in the country that are at that level.

“You look at Jordan Abdull, Rowan Milnes and Lewis and two of those will play and one will be in the reserves.

“They are three high class talents and you’re sat there thinking Hull KR are in the strongest position for halfbacks in the UK.”
