Parramatta centre Tom Opacic played for the Eels on Friday night against Penrith, just hours after the death of his brother Jakob.

Now, two men have appeared in a court in Queensland charged with Jakob’s murder, after the victim came off his motorbike and pronounced dead at the scene in the Gold Coast hinterland.

Police believe Mr Opacic was involved in an argument with several men outside the Numinbah Correctional Centre a few minutes before the crash.

Benjamin Charles Johnson, 29, and Steven Dale Latter, 28, were both charged with murder on Sunday, with the duo having their cases mentioned in Southport Magistrates Court.
