McShane facing lengthy ban for Myler blow

Paul McShane could be suspended for up to five matches after he was hit with a Grade D charge by the Match Review Panel.

It relates to an incident during Thursday’s match against Leeds Rhinos when he appeared to hit Richie Myler in the face with his forearm/elbow.

Castleford now face an anxious wait, with an independent tribunal to decide McShane’s fate at a hearing in Leeds tomorrow evening.

Meanwhile, Myler himself has been given a one-match ban for a Grade B dangerous lift in the same game.

Paul McShane (Castleford) – Grade D strikes with forearm/elbow – Refer to Tribunal

Richie Myler (Leeds) – Grade B Dangerous Lift – 1 Match Penalty Notice

The following players have been issued with a caution:

Pauli Pauli (Wakefield) – Contact with Match Official

Gil Dudson (Salford) – Dangerous Contact

Matty Lees (St Helens) – Dangerous Contact

Greg Bird (Catalans) – Dangerous Contact
