McNamara praises bloodied squad

Catalans Dragons Head Coach Steve McNamara has praised his side following their 20-10 victory over Huddersfield Giants.

The Dragons had a couple of blood-related injuries, with McNamara saying they had run out of spare kits due to players needing to change shirts.

McNamara also confirmed Dean Whare had broken his nose.

He said: “Dean is alright. He’s still bleeding now, but he’s a tough kid. As is Jason Baiteri who is down there, Alrix Da Costa is getting stitches down there as well.

“We ran out of jerseys, I think. There was that much blood everywhere.

“Whare has broken his nose.”
