Mark Aston has named Ireland’s 24-man squad for the World Cup and it includes Michael McIlorum and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook.
In arguably Ireland’s strongest ever squad, fellow Super League stars Kyle Amor, Brad Singleton and Anthony Mullally are also included.
Liam Finn captains the team, who will have the support of his Trinity team-mate Scott Grix as vice-captain in an Irish team full of top-flight experience.
“To get Micky back is massive for us,” said head coach Aston.
“We’ve a nice balance of youth and experience and I think it’s a very strong pack of forwards who won’t take a backward step against anybody.”
Ireland, who are in a group with Italy, Papua New Guinea and Wales, will fancy their chances of progressing to the quarter-finals.
