St George Illawarra prop James Graham will captain England in his hometown City of Liverpool on Sunday , England Coach Wayne Bennett has announced .
England Captain Sean O’Loughlin pulled out of the game against New Zealand on Tuesday and Bennett has stated he has complete trust in the former Saints legend and it looks likely he’ll keep the role for the final test at Elland Road next week, with Bennett stating that O’Loughlin is unlikely to be ready in a week . When Lockers had to pull out of the World Cup final squad last year Sam Burgess took the role , but with the Bunnies star also injured Bennett stated that Graham was the obvious choice for the role .
It was also announced today that Adam Milner will take O’Loughlin’s place in the 19 for the match against the Kiwis , where a win for the wall of white will clinch the series with a game to spare . Milner will win his 2nd cap against the Kiwis , having made his test debut against France last month .
Milner is excited at the prospect of playing in such a big game , with the Castleford star saying “It’s not the way I wanted to come into the team, with Lockers being injured, but I’m going to grab it with both hands and I can’t wait for Sunday.
“Being around top quality boys is fantastic and I’m learning lots from Wayne Bennett.
“He’s got a wealth of experience and he’s actually been quite inspirational – he comes up and gives some quite touching speeches as well, which you don’t see too often. For a new lad coming in, it’s great to be a part of.”
