Matt Peet has now given his thoughts on Wigan Warriors’ defeat to Leeds Rhinos.

The Warriors lost the second half 34-4 after leading 14-6 at the break against a Leeds side who were down to 12 men after Zane Tetevano’s red card in the first half.

Speaking in his press conference, Peet revealed that harsh words had been exchanged in the dressing room.

He said:

“We’ve reflected on tonight’s performance. There was some harsh words as you would expect but words don’t count for much, it’s about our actions after this.”

He also revealed he felt Leeds would be a threat in the second half and was disappointed that his side failed to deal with it:

“I always thought Leeds would be a threat in that second half, they have that ad lib style and they had nothing to lose with the man down.”

He also said his team didn’t buy into what they said they would do at halftime:

“We spoke at half time about how Leeds would come out firing and the fact is that we didn’t tie in what we said.”

Wigan will have a chance to right the wrongs next week against Leeds in the Challenge Cup defending the trophy they won last year.
