Yesterday, Wigan’s preparation for the Challenge Cup Final took another hit as they lost 31-22 to Hull FC.
However, the result may have been the least of some Wigan fans’ worries as Jake Bibby left the field. However Head Coach Matt Peet confirmed on the club’s website that it was simple a precaution: “Jake had a bit of tightness in the groin, we think he’ll be okay, it’s something he’s had before. Other than that, fortunately no new major worries.”
He also shed further light on the team he may pick at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium next week.
Yesterday, he named a very similar side to the one who contested the semi-final win over St Helens but Bibby’s slight issue as well as the strength of Wigan’s squad, including the likes of Willie Isa and others who didn’t play yesterday, leaves Peet with a few headaches as he sets out to win his first major trophy as Wigan boss.
Here’s what Peet had to say: “There’s a couple of decisions to be made. I’ll have to watch it back and consider everything, in many ways I thought it was a quality and intense game – really good preparation. You want to win but everyone has come through healthy and we were beaten by a good team.”
