Wigan Warriors head coach Matt Peet was a very unhappy man after his side were comfortably defeated by Warrington and lost their position at the top of the table.
The Wire handed Wigan Warriors a huge 40-4 defeat, and themselves moved to the top of the Super League table this weekend.
A seven-try display saw some excellent performances from the likes of Luke Yates, Adam Holroyd and Matt Dufty, but Wigan were second-best in many aspects of the game.
Asked on Sky Sports after the game if he felt his side ever had a foothold in the game, Matt Peet said: “No, I don’t think we did.
“We made too many basic errors and defensively, we weren’t at our best either. Now it’s a tough night for us, we’ve taken it on the chin. We’ll certainly look to improve from that.”

Peet was also asked what the biggest disappointment of the night was for him, and he responded: “The scoreline really. I think, particularly playing in front of our home fans, but whenever we’re turned out as a team, we’re embarrassed to be associated with that scoreline.
“It’s a fine line between being good and being really poor. We’ll go off and look at ourselves and we’ll be better.”
“I think there are differences between this week and last. Tonight, I thought our commitment was there, but we were poor with the ball and off the back of that, on the edges particularly, we defended it out of our system.”
Asked how he is reacting to the result, Peet said: “I look at myself first and foremost. We’ll be consistent, we won’t overreact.”
Asked to expand on ‘looking at himself’, Peet continued: “Every little thing, selection, interchange, the week. We do that all the time, it’s part of the job.
“But you certainly have more focus when you get beat like that.”
