Matt Peet blasts Wigan Warriors’ performance against Catalans

Wigan Warriors

The second game of Magic Weekend saw a battle between second and third with the prize potentially being first spot in the table.

Many expected it to be a tight and low scoring affair and Wigan Warriors were certainly the favourites against Catalans Dragons.

However, the French side have absolutely blown the Warriors away.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Matt Peet was furious.

“Not good enough for a club like this. The end was no consolation. It was just tip and pass and some things came off,” he said on Sky Sports.

“But we were way off it today. It simply wasn’t good enough. Certainly not good enough for a club like this.”

It would have been easy for Wigan fans to boo or even leave the event early but the deserve amazing credit. They, along with the Leeds Rhinos fans who engaged in a singing competition with them at one stage, have been the loudest fans here even when their side were 38 points down on the scoreboard.

They were singing the likes of “Wigan till we die” as their team struggled and celebrated Bevan French’s try in the second half like a Grand Final winner.

You have to give credit where it is due.
