Matt Parish says Samoa had ‘some tough calls’ in epic victory over England

Samoa head coach Matt Parish hailed his team for overcoming ‘some tough calls’ in their semi-final victory over England.
The Pacific Island nation overcame the odds to defeat the hosts, after losing to same opposition 60-6 just four weeks ago.
Speaking after the game, Parish said: “It’s unbelievable. I’m so proud of the players and staff we have in this group, words can’t describe it.
“I thought we got some tough calls but we hung in there like we have all competition.
Parish went on to pay credit to his team for overcoming numerous moments of adversity throughout the tournament.
Samoa will now play in their first World Cup final against Australia next Saturday at Old Trafford.
He added: “I think our whole group is special and inspirational. Players playing out of position, injuries, tough calls and a never say die attitude.
“I’m so proud. Tim Lafai has been incredible, our fullback is only 19 and Stephen Crichton was also unbelievable. It’s a great day for Samoa, I’m so proud.”
