Castleford Tigers back Peter Mata’utia has been given a two-match ban, after his appeal was unsuccessful.
Mata’uita was charged with a late hit during the Tigers’ 28-10 win over Toronto Wolfpack on Sunday.
He had pleaded guilty to the offence, but was challenging the grading. The appeal was unsuccessful, meaning a Grade B charge remained.
This means he must now serve a two-match ban and pay a £500 fine. Mata’uita will now miss Castleford’s games against Wigan Warriors and Catalans Dragons.
