Mark Aston wants to know what questions are asked of officials as he fears fine for comments

Yesterday Sheffield Eagles came very close to ending Featherstone Rovers’ unbeaten start to the Championship season.

This was despite being reduced to 10-men in the game.

They weren’t alone in getting cards with Featherstone also reduced to 12 men.

Speaking after the game Mark Aston was flabbergasted by some of the decisions.

“I can’t explain the high tackle or flop so why does he get sin binned,” he said on the club’s YouTube channel.

“Joe gets flattened under the sticks without the ball in his hand and nothing happens.

“Somethings happens with ours when he takes him after the ball has gone and it’s ten minutes in the sin bin.”

He went on to say the game was spoilt and that he needed to be careful in what he said about the officials.

He also questioned what happens to officials after a performance like this:

“I’m so frustrated and I’m really disappointed for the players that put the hard work in today because it was spoilt.

“I want to be careful with what I say because we get fined and get our hands slapped don’t we?

“What happens to them and who wants to ask them questions? Because my players have busted themselves today to come up with a performance they can be proud of and I thought we got let down.

“We’re disappointed and the fans will be disappointed because they paid their hard earned money to come for it to get spoilt.

“I thought we weren’t very far off, 13 versus 13 for 80 minutes with equal penalties and equal field position then it might have gone the other way.

“We’re hurting at the moment because I felt we had enough to win this game. We’ll look at the game to make sure I’m not going senile and crazy, look through the decisions with a fine tooth comb and if I was wrong then I’ll kick some backsides on Tuesday and if I was right then somebody else’s backside should be kicked shouldn’t it?

“There’s a few upset, angry and frustrated players in there right now.”
