Star Rooster to test the open market

Sydney Roosters centre Joseph Manu will be off-contract as of November 1st and is expected to consider external offers before re-signing with the Sydney Roosters.

There are two main reasons why Manu might be doing this.

The first being that he wants to leave the Roosters, although that does not seem too obvious in this case.

The second being he wants to increase his value at the Roosters, by receiving other offers Manu can get more money from the Roosters by getting them to match or exceed the other offers he will receive.

The two clubs other than the Roosters that are likely to land Manu’s signature at this point in time are the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and the Wests Tigers.

Both sides could use a centre, with the Bulldogs reportedly having money to spend and the tigers rumoured to be releasing players soon to create salary cap space.
