Man of Steel points as surprise player picks up maximum points despite defeat

The Man of Steel points for Round 10 of the Betfred Super League have been revealed.

Surprisingly, Castleford Tigers’ Paul McShane took three points in their clash against Hull KR despite losing.

He won the Man of Steel award in 2020 and has been in good form.

He wasn’t the only player on the losing end to come away with a Man of Steel point. Tom Johnstone took one point in Catalans Dragons’ defeat to Salford Red Devils.

ST HELENS V WARRINGTON WOLVES
Saints’ experienced playmaker Jonny Lomax picked up maximum Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel points in Round 10. Matty Lees produced another industrious performance to earn two points, with Tee Ritson receiving the final Man of Steel point.

CASTLEFORD TIGERS V HULL KR
Castleford’s Paul McShane picked up three Man of Steel points against the Robins in Round 10. McShane’s opposite number, Matt Parcell, earned two points whilst Elliot Minchella received the final Man of Steel point.

LEIGH LEOPARDS V LEEDS RHINOS
Edwin Ipape’s recent run of form continued in Round 10 – the PNG international earned maximum Man of Steel points against the Rhinos and moves into the top 10 leaderboard. Kai O’Donnell added two points to his 2023 tally with Lachlan Lam receiving the final point.

SALFORD RED DEVILS V CATALANS DRAGONS
Salford’s Joe Burgess picked up three Man of Steel points against the Dragons in Round 10. Red Devils skipper Kallum Watkins was the recipient of two points, whilst Tom Johnstone consolidated his place in the Man of Steel top 10 after adding another point to his 2023 total.

WIGAN WARRIORS V WAKEFIELD TRINITY
Morgan Smithies earned maximum Man of Steel points against winless Wakefield on Sunday. Abbas Miski received two points with Bevan French creeping closer to the top of the Man of Steel leaderboard thanks to another point scoring week.
