Harry Newman has seemingly been through it all in recent years.
One of the most bright young talents in the world of rugby league, the Leeds Rhinos centre has suffered a horrific double leg break as well as two torn hamstrings.
But, Newman has now retired to full training with an eye of getting back in the Leeds side in June.
“It’s been a long time coming, obviously I got injured in pre-season and then to do it again first game back wasn’t great but to be back out there with the lads has been great and I’m not far off return,” Newman told the Rhinos’ YouTube channel.
“To only play 50 minutes last time was really disappointing but I’m back in training now and the medics have worked really hard and they have got me to this point and I’ve just got to tick the boxes now.”
Newman has also revealed just how much testing he has had to go through as well as the ‘dark days’ of rehab.
“I’ve obviously had a load of tests along the way to tick off to get to to this point and I’ve still got a couple more to go now so hopefully in the next month I should be back.
“I’ve been through a lot of rehab with my leg break and the two injuries but these things only make you stronger.
“There are some dark days in rehab when you’re in and everyone is off.”
