Mahe Fonua update ahead of Castleford Tigers move

Mahe Fonua looks to have shed the pounds as he begins a new life at Castleford Tigers.

Fonua had been brought back to the MKM Stadium at Hull FC ahead of the 2020 Super League season, but failed to hit the ground running for his second stint on Humberside.

And, just two years into a three-year contract, the blockbusting outside back had his contract terminated by mutual agreement, with new Castleford boss Lee Radford hankering after his signature.

That chase became a reality as Fonua penned a one-year deal with the option of two more years at the Jungle.

And, now the 28-year-old looks to be in incredible shape heading into his first pre-season at the Tigers.

He snapped a photo of himself standing outside a boxing ring with his friend, with a visibly sweaty shirt and a much slimmer face as Radford expects big things of the former Tongan international.
