The Magic Weekend 2023 was brilliant.

Salford Red Devils and Hull KR produced a classic clash, Catalans Dragons stunned Wigan Warriors and right now Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers are engaged in a tight affair.

Today we have seen Leigh Leopards and St Helens produce statement wins over Wakefield Trinity and Huddersfield Giants prior to an intriguing clash between Hull FC and Warrington Wolves.

For much of this year it has been questioned whether the 2023 Magic Weekend will be the last event of its kind.

The fans have certainly had their say on whether it should say.

A huge 36,943 fans were in attendance yesterday with 17,000 in for the first game of the day which broke the record for most fans at the opening game.

Today it has been confirmed that an aggregate attendance of 63,269 fans was recorded by the event which is the highest since 2018 and the sixth highest ever.

Meanwhile the viewing figures were consistent with the attendances.

The cumulative audience was second highest for Magic Weekend whilst four of the games recorded the highest four audience shares of the season for Sky Sports matches.

Wakefield Trinity v Leigh Leopards on Sunday lunchtime had the highest audience share, and the highest peak – the sixth highest of the season.

That may also be linked to the fact the Wakefield game was on Main Event.

But Hull FC v Warrington Wolves had the highest average programme audience – which was the fourth highest for a Super League game this season.
