Lyne appeal fails

Salford Red Devils 24-34 Wakefield Trinity

Wakefield Trinity centre Reece Lyne’s appeal of his two-match ban for dangerous contact has failed.

Lyne’s tackle on Warrington full-back Will Dagger was given a Grade C charge and despite appealing, Lyne will sit out the upcoming fixtures against Castleford Tigers and Warrington Wolves.

Meanwhile, Keighley Cougars’ trio Josh Tonks, Brad Nicholson and Hamish Barnes have all been found guilty of offences in their game against York City Knights on June 25.

Tonks pleaded guilty to a Grade D Strike with the Arm and will miss the next five games.

Nicholson pleaded not guilty to Grade A tripping but was found guilty, however he won’t be suspended for any matches.

Barnes was found guilty of Grade B tripping and has a one-game ban.
