Luke Thompson posts update after being told to train alone

Luke Thompson has taken to social media to provide an update on his current situation after being told to train in isolation.

The former St Helens forward has been one of the most outspoken adversaries of the COVID-19 vaccine since it ripped its way through Australian society following an increase in the number of cases.

Although Thompson has backtracked on his opposition to being vaccinated, he is still unlikely to make a final decision until December.

The whole saga around vaccination protocol has led some NRL clubs to take legal advice about whether sacking a player could be done if they refuse the vaccine.

Players scheduled to return but not vaccinated will be refused entry by some Sydney clubs under New South Wales county health orders, which means that those players will be given home training regimes.

Under NSW health orders, if you are not fully-vaccinated you cannot visit a stadium, gym, or public swimming pool.

And, the Bulldogs hierarchy have issued a notice that Bulldogs need to be double-vaccinated in time for the club’s return to pre-season training on November 1.

This means that Thompson has set up his own home gym in a bid to keep up his fitness during the off-season.
