Luke Thompson has finally agreed to get double vaccinated following a period of hysteria.

The former St Helens man’s future was up in the air after he refused to get both vaccines, prompting a period of headbutting with the Canterbury Bulldogs management.

Thompson has been the highest-profile player to speak out against the COVID-19 vaccination and there was a real worry that he could leave the Bulldogs.

But Wide World of Sports has revealed that the 26-year-old has had a change of heart and will get both vaccines before the end of the year.

“He had a talk with the club and his manager and just realised it would be all too difficult (not to get the jab),” a Bulldogs source told Wide World of Sports.

“With lots of travel across state borders and other factors, it could have led to problems

“It was his decision in the end but we are delighted he has seen the light.”

The NRL will not force its players to get vaccinated, but has spoken out for the benefits.
