Hull FC’s Luke Gale has spent a lot of the 2022 Super League season on the sidelines.
That’s because the halfback has been banned for seven matches so far – half of the season – but Gale is beginning to find some form in his first season with Hull.
The former Castleford Tigers’ number seven joined Hull from Leeds Rhinos where he won the Challenge Cup, but he opened up on his time at the Jungle live on Channel 4 as Castleford hosted Wigan Warriors.
“It’s a place I played for at five years and I had many good years, but the last time I played here I copped some right abuse and they even made a chant about me,” Gale said on Channel 4.
Gale was also asked by host Helen Skelton whether he wants to get into Shaun Wane’s thinking for the England squad at the end of the year.
“If I stop being banned and I get on the pitch, but it’s been a tough season so far.
“My last game was the best one I’ve played and we are sat in a good spot outside the top four, but we will try to make an impact on the top four.”
However, the Black and Whites did lose out to Wakefield Trinity in a rain-soaked affair yesterday to stop that good run.
