Luke Gale ban update after appeal

Luke Gale will serve a one match suspension following his appeal this evening (Wednesday 4 August) to an independent Operational Rules tribunal. 

The Leeds Rhinos scrum-half was challenging a two-match suspension handed down by the RFL’s Match Review Panel for making contact with referee Chris Kendall during his side’s recent Betfred Super League match against Warrington Wolves.

The tribunal downgraded the offence from grade B to A.

The following players have accepted penalty notices imposed by the Match Review Panel.

Jordan Johnstone (Hull FC) – Dangerous contact, Grade B, 1 match

Harry Bowes (Wakefield Academy) – Foul and abusive language to match official, Grade B, 2 matches

Ryan King (Whitehaven) – Other contrary behaviour, Grade B, 1 match

Karl Dixon, (Whitehaven) – Punching, Grade B, 1 match

Connor Wynne (Hull FC) – Strikes with forearm, Grade B, 1 match

Jack Hughes (Warrington Wolves) – Dangerous contact, Grade B, 1 match

Jack Ashworth (Leigh Centurions) – Punching, Grade C, 2 matches

Brad Singleton (Wigan Warriors) – Punching, Grade C, 2 matches

Oliver Partington (Wigan Warriors) – Punching, Grade C, 3 matches

Rob Butler (Leigh Centurions) – Punching, Grade C, 2 matches

Sam Hall (Castleford Tigers) – Dangerous throw, Grade B, 1 match
