London Broncos have equalled a club record, after victory over Goole Vikings saw them stretch their winning run to 10 matches, the joint-most in the club’s history.
Jason Demetiou’s side travelled up north and came away with the spoils thanks to help from Morea Morea, Luke Smith and Neil Tchamambe, who all crossed twice in the win.
Star signings Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Siliva Havili also got on the scoresheet as London ran in a total of 12 tries to win 70-10.
Four teams sit below them in the ladder on 16 points, with Oldham leading that little cluster on points difference. Alan Kilshaw’s side went down 12-0 in the opening five minutes, but ended up as 40-18 winners over Barrow Raiders.
Newcastle Thunder won heavily over Batley Bulldogs, with their York Knights partnership propsering again. Will Roberts and Nikau Williams both crossed twice, whilst John Sagaga dotted down in a 52-8 win over James Ford’s men.
North Wales Crusaders’ tie with Doncaster was postponed at the request of the Crusaders, who have withdrew from games for the second game running after dropping out of the 1895 Cup against Midlands a fortnight ago.
Cumbrian sides Workington and Whitehaven had a mixed weekend, with Whitehaven being defeated by Dewsbury Rams 22-12 whilst Whitehaven travelled to Hunslet RLFC and came away with the points.
Wins also came for Keighley Cougars and Swinton Lions, who beat Halifax and Midlands repsectively. The result was Swinton’s first win of the league season, and comes after they picked up their first points last time out after a draw with Keighley.
The closest game of the weekend saw Widnes Vikings take on Sheffield Eagles. Sheffield, who were without loanee Jordan Abdull for this game with Widnes being his parent club, travelled to the DCBL Stadium but would come up short, losing out 16-12.
