London Broncos announce 2023 squad numbers with suggestion of more recruitment

London Broncos have announced their shirt numbers for the 2023 season ahead of their first pre-season game where the battle of the capital will take place as they face London Skolars.

The Capital Challenge pre-season game is set to take place on Friday evening which has promoted the Broncos to announce their 2023 squad numbers.

They announced the news via their website.

“Scotland international Alex Walker tops the chart and will wear number one, proven try-scorers Paul Ulberg and Iliess Macani will wear two and five respectively while skipper Will Lovell retains the 11 shirt.

“New recruits Jarred Bassett (3), Marcus Stock (12), Ethan Natoli (16) and Henry Raiwalui (17) have also received their squad numbers for their first campaigns in London.

“Meanwhile Academy graduates Dan Hoyes (23), Jenson Monk (24) and Euan Parke (26) will sport the attached numbers in their first year of first-team Rugby League.”

The signing of Ethan Natoli was a brilliant coup with the Italian international impressing at the World Cup but the versatile 27-year-old hasn’t been granted one of the traditional starting centre numbers, with fellow signing Jared Bassett taking the three shirt instead.

Shirts 18, 19, 20 and 21 remain unassigned which could hint at new signings as the Broncos’ squad does feel quite light going into the 2023 season.
