Livett believes Rovers have talent to stay out of trouble

14th February 2020, Headingley Carnegie Stadium, Leeds, England; Betfred Super League, Leeds Rhinos v Hull Kingston Rovers : Harvey Livett (12) of Hull KR during the game

On-loan Hull KR forward Harvey Livett has said he believes Hull KR have the talent in their squad to stay out of relegation trouble.

Livett, who is on loan from Warrington Wolves, said Rovers are hungry to get back to the standard they set in their Round One victory against Wakefield Trinity.

He said: “A lot of people expected us to either go down, or be in a relegation battle. But, I think we have shocked a few teams with the way we play and move the ball around.

“It’s not just one drive, up and down type rugby. I think when we come back, the lads will be hungry to get back up to that standard again, and go even further.

“Hopefully, we can finish the season strong when it does resume.”

Livett is in his second spell at the Rovers, having played for a month for them last season. He said Tony Smith was a factor in him wanting to return.

He added: “When I signed, I was really looking forward to getting back under Tony (Smith), and playing under him. We signed some really good players as well.

“We started off well with a win, but then we picked up a few losses, which didn’t help. But I think we were doing well.

“We have a young squad, but it’s going good.”
