Leigh v Wakefield: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Two teams outside the top six butt heads today but both sides appear to be on very different trajectories heading into 2022. Whilst Leigh’s days in Super League are numbered, Wakefield are in the form of their season as they begin to prepare for an assault on the top six next season.

The Centurions will be forced into changes across the backline. Junior Sa’u and Matty Russell are both unavailable meaning Craig Mullen will be promoted from the bench onto the wing whilst Jack Logan steps up at centre. Meanwhile, the pack should remain relatively unchanged but there could be changes on the bench with Rob Butler and Nathan Mason coming in.

Trinity will also have to make changes in their backline. Tom Johnstone is again sadly injured so Innes Senior will come in on the wing in the only change Willie Poching is likely to make after finding the perfect formula for success in recent weeks. He could move Liam Kay onto the wing but I believe he’ll again be trusted at hooker.
