Leigh sign former Origin hooker

Leigh Centurions have announced the signing of Nathan Peats from Gold Coast Titans ahead of the 2021 season.

After making his debut with South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2011, he soon became a regular. He would make 57 appearances over three seasons before joining Parramatta, where he played alongside former Leigh players Fuifui Moimoi and Willie Tonga.

Forced to leave Parramatta after salary cap issues, he joined Gold Coast during the 2016 season, playing alongside 2019 Leigh favourite Luke Douglas and recent signing Nathaniel Peteru.

He played 70 games for the Titans, taking his NRL tally to an impressive 163 games (16 tries) and over his career he has also represented the Indigenous All Stars and NSW City.

In 2017, he played in all thee Origin matches for New South Wales, but the Blues lost the series 2-1.

Head Coach John Duffy said: “Nathan is a recent State of Origin player who brings a wealth of experience and he’s looking forward to joining our club and getting stuck in.

“He will augment the very good squad that we have put together and he will add his own qualities to the group.”
