Leigh Centurions have suffered a major blow to their top four ambitions as both Peter Mata’utia and Matty Dawson-Jones were given Grade E charges after their respective red cards against Leeds Rhinos last Friday.
Mata’utia was sent off for a suplex tackle on Rhinos hooker Matt Parcell while Dawson-Jones was sent off for ‘questioning the integrity of a match official’.
With a maximum of eight games each on the sidelines, Kieron Purtill’s men have a steeper hill to climb if they are to make it back to the Qualifiers.
Three of the Centurions’ next four fixtures come against Halifax, Toronto Wolfpack and Toulouse Olympique.
