Leigh Leopards v St Helens squads confirmed as key man missing for Saints

St Helens

St Helens make the journey to Leigh Leopards on Friday night for what promises to be another intriguing Super League clash.

Leigh approach the contest knowing that a win would secure a spot in the top four and a play-off game at Leigh Sports Village. There’s a small chance it could even keep their hopes of finishing in the top two alive, but Wigan Warriors would need to lose at home to Castleford Tigers for that to be the case.

St Helens, on the other hand, know that only a win would be enough to give them a chance of finishing higher than fifth, with Leigh currently three points ahead of the Merseyside outfit.

Paul Wellens’ side are boosted by the return of George Delaney, who is also eligible after serving a one-match ban last time out. However, there is no Morgan Knowles, who missed the clash with Wigan Warriors due to the HIA he failed a week previous at Hull KR, following a high shot from Rhyse Martin.

His absence is a big blow for the Saints, but Shane Wright is available to make his debut after joining the club on loan from Salford Red Devils late last month. Jon Bennison also steps into the reckoning after being recalled from his loan at Widnes Vikings.

Adrian Lam has made just one change to his 21-man squad with Joe Ofahengaue stepping into the fold after missing the last few weeks through injury. However, he takes the place of Tesi Niu, who failed a HIA last weekend against Warrington Wolves.
