Leigh Leopards to involve “hit US show” in rebrand as fans given exciting role in club’s new era

Leigh are set to embark on a new era in 2023.

The club have already made 13 exciting signings for their return to Super League.

They have signed Warrington Wolves quintet Matt Davis, Oliver Holmes, Rob Mulhern, Jack Hughes and Jacob Gannon, Leeds Rhinos duo Tom Briscoe and Zak Hardaker as well as St Helens duo Tom Nisbet and Aaron Smith who spent last year on loan at Leigh Sports Village.

They have also signed Castleford Tigers’ Gareth O’Brien, Huddersfield Giants’ Ricky Leutele and Newcastle Thunder’s Nathan Wilde.

The club are also searching for a 13th signing.

However, the excitement doesn’t end with signings with the club also rebranding as the Leigh Leopards and as part of this rebrand they are set to reveal a new mascot.

But they won’t be any old mascot, with US hit show The Masker Singer set to make the costume whilst fans will be given the chance to name the mascot.

In a statement from the club, the said: “As mentioned in the club’s initial rebranding presentation, Leigh Leopards are asking its fans to name our brand new leopard mascot.

“The club’s new mascot will not be like any other typical furry mascot, as this particular costume is set to be created by the makers of hit US show “The Masked Singer”, with illuminated eyes coming at a significant investment from the club.

“Fans are asked to use the link below to put in your suggestion, with a selection committee picking the top three for Leopards fans to choose from at a later stage.”
