Leigh Leopards red card branded “as bad as you will see”

Leigh Leopards have been reduced to 12 men becoming the third team in four Challenge Cup quarter-finals to reduced to 12 men this weekend.

The red card went the way of Kai O’Donnell for a dangerous tackle.

The incident was a tip tackle from the impressive Leigh forward.

York were naturally massive underdogs going into the game but against 12 men they have as good a chance as any to claim the win.

Speaking on Viaplay, commentator Mark Wilson branded the tackle as “terrible” and as “bad a tackle you will see.

He said during the moment: “That’s terrible. That is as bad a tackle as you will see.”

A huge upset looked likely when the Leopards trailed 14-6 at the break but second half tries from Tom Amone and Josh Charnley have fired the Leopards in the lead 16-14.

York will play in a semi-final no matter the result with Batley Bulldogs waiting in the semi-finals of the 1895 Cup Final.
