Leigh Leopards have brought in Bradford Bulls man Kane Daniels as Head of Performance ahead of the new Super League season.

Daniel has been working with the Bulls as Head of Strength and Conditioning alongside his role with Ireland as Head of Performance.

He will work alongside Adrian Lam as the Leopards look to kick on from last season when they finished fifth and won the Challenge Cup.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Daniels explained what he will be doing with the club in 2024.

He said: “Yeah, so, you know, overseeing the performance side really. So obviously looking after all the gym-based programs, all the stuff on the field in terms of the conditioning, the speed, the plyometrics, the recovery, and the general periodization of the weeks, the months, and the in-season period basically now because obviously, I’ve come in at a time where there’s quite a bit of the foundation stuff that’s already been done. So it’s a case of building upon that and hopefully having a successful 2024 season.

“Yeah, so obviously early days. I would have liked to have come in a little bit earlier and got some genuine data to look at. But from what I’ve seen so far, the boys are in really good condition. We’ve got a lot of players training and available.

“The biggest ability for me is availability. The more we can have that, the more players that train on the field, the better for us. In the gym they’ve been really good, all ripping in, pretty strong, pretty powerful. I’m going to look to build on that as the year goes on and hopefully have a successful I’m going to look to build on that as the year goes on and hopefully have a successful year.”

Daniels will be getting his hands on an excellent squad ahead of the 2024 season. The club have drafted in the likes of Matt Moylan from the NRL. The veteran joins from Cronulla Sharks for a replacement for Ben Reynolds who left to join Featherstone Rovers.

The club have also snapped up an impressive young forward in the shape of Owen Trout as well as bringing in Dan Norman from St Helens.

They are still in the market for a fullback or winger after missing out on Tristan Sailor recently.
