Leigh Leopards boss hits back at negativity over England star as his bold claim is vindicated

Leigh Leopards boss Adrian Lam will have the pleasure of working with some world stars in Super League in 2023 after the former Wigan Warriors boss pulled off some outstanding recruitment for 2033 alongside Director of Rugby Chris Chester and owner Derek Beaumont.

Lam knows a good player when he sees one and before the tournament began he said Victor Radley would be England’s best player as he pushed back against the negativity around Radley playing for England through his Sheffield born father.

It’s a claim Radley has gone some way to prove with some outstanding performances including a Man of the Match display against Samoa in game one.

It was perhaps a proud moment for Lam who has seen Radley grow up alongside his son Lachlan Lam.

Now though Adrian has been vindicated for his bold pre-tournament prediction as he hit back at those who questioned whether he should be playing for England.

“I said to some people back at home he would be England’s best player at this tournament,” Lam said according to Zerotackle.

“A lot of people questioned him in England, but I knew he would win them over pretty quickly.

“It’s an incredible journey they’ve both had to get here.”

Radley will be up against childhood friend Lachlan Lam today as England meet Papua New Guinea in the World Cup quarter finals knowing that a place in the semi final at the Emirates Stadium awaits.
