Leigh Leopards have had to make a huge number of changes ahead of 2025, with many players signing elsewhere.
A raid by Hull FC and NRL departures mean the side that secured a play-off place in one of the great comebacks in Super League history has been largely torn apart, while Matt Moylan’s retirement means they’ve lost another big name.
However, David Armstrong, Isaac Liu, Ben Condon and Tesi Niu have all signed from Down Under, meaning their 2025 squad is starting to take shape.
Who is off-contract after next year, however?
Every Leigh Leopards player off-contract after 2025
Perhaps most notably, half-back Lachlan Lam is off-contract after 2025, and with NRL clubs reportedly interested in the PNG playmaker, it may be tough for the Leopards to keep him round – and another half that could be on his way out is Ben McNamara, meaning the off-season before 2026 could see them desperate for a 6 or 7.
Another player that may be of interest to NRL clubs is Lam’s international teammate Edwin Ipape, who is also free to leave after next season if a contract extension isn’t sorted, with his recent performances at hooker certainly stand-out.
Josh Charnley, the second-highest try scorer in Super League history, is also going into the final year of his contract, having been with the club for three seasons.
By the end of it, he’ll potentially be top of all-time, but could then play elsewhere.
Second-rower Jack Hughes would be a big miss if they leave on the expiration of their current contracts.
Meanwhile, Gareth O’Brien’s playmaking abilities are only tied down to Leigh Sports Village for one more year too, meaning his versatility may not be able to be called upon for much longer.
Centre Keanan Brand and prop trio Nathan Wilde, Kavan Rothwell and Ben Nakubuwai round out the list of those off-contract after 2025.
