With David Armstrong joining Leigh Leopards for 2025, it seemed clear that Matt Moylan would move into the halves again, to play alongside Lachlan Lam.
However, now there are suggestions that Moylan could be considering retirement, the Leopards may have to look elsewhere for a star to play in the halves.
This season saw six different players start a game at stand-off, showing that Adrian Lam is not completely convinced by any of them – with only Gareth O’Brien playing over ten games there.

Jayden Sullivan
There were plenty of suggestions in June that Sullivan would be heading to Super League as part of a mass-exodus of Wests Tigers players, before he poured cold water over them with an interview in which he said he’s be staying with the Tigers.
However, there may still be a chance of this happening, as Wests have recently made a number of signings, meaning they may look to get some off their books – and he hasn’t played an NRL game since June.
Eiden Ackland is a stand-off, just like Sullivan, and has joined the side for next year, showing that the club may not be content with its halves situation currently.
23-year-old Sullivan is also capable of playing at hooker, meaning he could potentially rotate with Edwin Ipape and Brad Dwyer.
Much of his NRL experience is with St George Illawarra Dragons, but he has never played finals rugby in his career.
Anthony Milford
After struggling to cement a place in the Dolphins team this year, The Daily Telegraph has reported that a move to Super League seems likely.
Leigh would surely be one of the key sides interested in the man that has recently struggled for games at Newcastle Knights and with the Dolphins.
A former State of Origin half with Queensland, he is also a Samoa international – showing his quality, even if he hasn’t had many opportunities to show it recently.
They’d surely, however, be up against Warrington Wolves for his signature, with Josh Drinkwater on his way out.
Jack Campagnolo
Perhaps a left-field option, Campagnolo’s ability to dictate a game and keep his side in it could be particularly important at the start of next season, in a Leopards side that will have many changes to it after so many players have left.
He kept his side in many games this season, and although his game can be rough around the edges, he was a big part of the reason the Broncos were in so many games this year.
He’s off-contract with London Broncos at the end of the season, and it’s highly unlikely that he would be staying with the Wimbledon-based club plying its trade in the RFL Championship.
This has been his first year in first-grade rugby league, and he has never shown his ability to play for a stronger side, but this could be a smart option for a side with so many new players.
