Leigh Leopards head coach Adrian Lam has provided an injury update on his side ahead of a crucial game against Hull KR.
The Leopards currently sit in fifth place in the Super League table, one point ahead of St Helens in sixth and Leeds Rhinos in seventh.
Therefore, the final two games of the regular season are absolutely crucial in their fight for a play-off spot, which looked like it would be an impossible goal to reach mid-season.
After playing Hull KR this Friday, attention then goes to the final game of the regular season – against play-off rivals St Helens.
Adrian Lam provides Leigh Leopards injury update ahead of potential play-off decider
Speaking in the pre-match press conference, Adrian Lam provided positive news: “I think most of the squad is fully fit. A couple of boys with niggly injuries there which we’ll address on captain’s run within that squad of 21.
“Edwin Ipape again, just had a small bump on the top of the shoulder there so we’ve got to address that. So he’s the only main one really that’s a chance to not play.
“He’s got a bit of a bump on his rotator cuff, so we’re just going to try and take care of that. So whether he’s back this week or next week, we’ll make that decision.”
Asked about Umyla Hanley’s fitness, after he left the field last time round, he said: “Yeah, he’s on peak running today, which is good.
“He had a little bit of a back spasm, so nothing too major to worry about. We could probably have put him back on the field the other night, but with the score line and everything, he’s not going to be able to do that.
“So nothing too major to worry about. We could probably have put him back on the field the other night, but with the scoreline that it was, we felt that it was just a smart move to keep him off. So he’ll be totally fine.”
They seem to be in a good position going into the upcoming fixtures.
