Leigh Centurions surprisingly trail at halftime in 1895 Cup semi-final

Going into today’s semi-finals of the 1895 Cup, most fans believed that it was a foregone conclusion that Leigh would meet Featherstone in the final and that it would make for the most apt final with stars galore in both squads.

Featherstone held up their end of the bargain defeating Barrow 46-6, but the Centurions currently trail at halftime to the Sheffield Eagles.

The score is 10-6 at Leigh Sports Village after Kris Welham scored early for the Eagles with Izaac Farrel and nailing two penalties either side of a Leigh try from Sam Stone.

Adrian Lam will have to give his side a boost at the break if they want to join Featherstone in the final at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium.
