Leigh Centurions and Featherstone Rovers’ signing race is not over yet.

Both sides are desperate to reach Super League at the end of the 2022 Championship season and their recruitment has proved that.

World-renowned stars have come in their droves to both the Millennium Stadium and the Leigh Sports Village with one of those – Blake Ferguson – still not making his debut for the Centurions.

However, Leigh boss Adrian Lam revealed just why he has not been played yet.

“There is a science side of it so he doesn’t blow out straightaway,” Lam said on Premier Sports before kick-off of their game against the Batley Bulldogs.

“I don’t want to rush him into it but he will play next week.”

Lam was also asked about whether or not more signings would be made and the former Wigan Warriors head coach wants to add another one or two before the squad is finalised.

“It’s always at the front of your mind (signing players),” Lam added.

“We’ve got to make sure we will be building the group – we are up to 26 now and we are close to where we want to be.”
